Who we are

Nova Drive Malta is the trading name of NovaDrive Service Centre Ltd (company registration C 116377, VAT number MT32937930), based in Ħal Qormi. We are a self-drive car-hire company serving Malta and Gozo, with our pickup hub at Malta International Airport (MLA), Park East, where you are met with meet-and-greet rather than sent to a distant depot.

We are a small local team rather than a large chain, and we like it that way. It means the person you deal with knows the islands, the roads and the fleet, and can give you a straight answer. Our cars are kept serviced and well looked after, and we run everything from Malta, so when you book you are dealing with the operator itself, not a layer in between.

How we work

The way we price is the part visitors tell us they value most. Our rates are all-in: VAT and the airport fee are already inside the daily rate, so the price you see at checkout is what you pay. The only extra is the optional delivery or collection service, which depends on the location and is agreed directly with our team in advance, never as a surprise at the desk.

• Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup, so your plans stay flexible.
• Pay at the desk on pickup, after a quick licence check.
• A refundable deposit is held on a card at pickup and released on return; the amount is shown before you book.
• Insurance is included, with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW, with an excess) and third-party liability on every rental. An optional upgrade lowers the excess if you would rather travel with less at risk.
• Drivers from age 21 with a full licence held at least 2 years; a young-driver surcharge applies under 25, shown before you book.
